Girls Guide: Dolphins – Suck for Luck, on ESPN

26 10 2011

Last Sunday, Jordan went to Sun Life Stadium to get some feedback from the Dolphins fans on the “Suck for Luck” competition.
Andrew Luck is the star quarterback for Stanford University and widely regarded as the most valuable prospect for the 2012 draft next year. The NFL team finishing with the worst record in this season will get the number one pick for the draft which begs the question for Dolphins fans, “Do you want to SUCK FOR LUCK?!?”

Jordan joins espnW team

23 09 2011

Jordan Zucker has been invited to join the team at espnW! She will be making videos throughout the fantasy football season. She’s super excited about it and attributes the deal mostly to the fabulous animal print, cute but office-appropriate dress she wore to the meeting over the summer. Stay tuned for the first video to be posted shortly.
(Pic of dress would be posted had Jordan still not recovered 90% of her life from computer failure this week. Shut up about the time machine, she bought it years ago and it wasn’t compatible with her beloved piece of shit.)

GG2MM Results

5 04 2011

You heard it here third: everyone’s bracket picks sucked this year.
I actually had UConn going to the final four and wound up in 6th place which means my other picks sucked even harder.
But it was still fun nonetheless and indeed rose to the occasion for its namesake leaving a wake of madness in its trail.
Here were the results for the top ten standings for the Girls Guide to March Madness Bracket Tourney:

Congrats to Andrea for finishing in first!

Taking on Fantasy Baseball

14 04 2009

In case you haven’t heard, Girls’ Guide has branched out to the baseball world. Twelve women from all around the country have come together to master the game in Jordan’s other favorite sport.

As a rookie to the realm of fantasy in America’s favorite pastime, you immediately notice a few glaring differences between fantasy football and fantasy baseball. For example, rotisserie scoring, daily roster changes, a team from Detroit actually winning games, and offensive players from Baltimore even being worthy of ownership.

The first parallel I’m calling out is that the Catchers are the Tight Ends of baseball – not really a source of big points.

Monday, March 30th 2009 turned out to be an epic evening. GG2FB had its first draft and a few of the league members were able to meet up and celebrate scoring their target picks at a free Dead concert at Roseland Ballroom in NYC.

We welcome you to follow our progress throughout the season on our ESPN Public League.

And take yourselves out to the ballgame when you can.
